Hall of Fame
Under the leadership of Head Coach Joe Renfro, the 2014 Golden Norsemen Wrestling Team captured the NJCAA National Championship, marking the first national title in program history. The Golden Norsemen tallied 169 team points to outpace Northwest College (WY) and Clackamas (OR) at the national tournament held in Spokane, Washington.
The Golden Norsemen went 13-0 in dual competition during the season with nine All-Americans. The Golden Norsemen had one individual National Champion, Payne Hatter (174 lbs.)
National Runner-Up honors went to Josh Walker (125 lbs.), Michael Williams (141 lbs.), and Zack Dobbins (149 lbs.). Mark Hobson (157 lbs.) and Evan McGee (285 lbs.) each secured third-place finishes, while Shelby Krout (197 lbs.) captured fifth place, earning All-American honors. Also earning All-American honors included Josh Ailey (133 lbs.) and Caleb Cotter (184 lbs.), rounding out one of the most dominant rosters in NJCAA wrestling history.
Head Coach Joe Renfro was named NJCAA National Coach of the Year, becoming just the second coach in NJCAA history to lead two different schools to national titles, and the first to do so in back-to-back seasons.
