The 10th President of NEO, Dr. Bruce Carter, had a dream of having a dance/drill team that would feature young ladies with poise, beauty and talent. In 1951 his dream was fulfilled as the NEO Norse Stars became an official organization under the direction of Virginia Lee Wilson. Ruth Ann had the honor of being one of the first young ladies to become a Norse Star. Ruth Ann graduated from NEO in 1952 and went on to Brigham Young University. She married Tommy Hudspeth and returned in Miami, OK in 1981 where she and her sister took over Virginia Lee Wilson’s Dance studio. Today Ruth Ann and Tommy live in Tulsa, OK where she still teaches adult tap classes.
