Originally from Moore, OK,
Crissy Strimple began her women’s
softball career at Northeastern
Oklahoma A&M College in 1999.
She graduated from NEO in 2001
after completing an Associate’s
degree, continued her education
at the University of Tulsa (BS
Exercise Sports Science, 2004), and
completed her education at the
University of Arkansas (M.Ed. Sports
Management, 2006).
While playing shortstop for
NEO A&M, Strimple was a two time
All-Region selection and an NJCAA All-American 2001. In 2000 she
placed 3rd in the NJCAA nationals as the starting shortstop. Her NEO
class holds a school record with 101 wins in over two seasons, having
earned at least 50 wins each season, the only class to accomplish such a
feat. During her two years at NEO she had a .432 career batting average,
hitting .492 in a single season. Strimple holds the record for season and
career hits with 94 and 153 respectively. She currently ranks first in hits
during a single season with 94 hits in 2001, and 153career hits. Chrissy
also ranks second all-time with 24 doubles in a single season, and 37 in
her Lady Norse career.
As a third baseman for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, Strimple led
the team in home runs with 10 as a senior and was the team offensive
player of the year in both her junior and senior seasons. Her 18 career
home runs still rank sixth all-time at the University of Tulsa.
After receiving her Master’s Degree from Arkansas, Strimple began her
coaching career at the University of Tulsa. She has coached the team
to seven conference championships in Conference USA, and six NCAA
regional appearances.
