Hall of Fame
Richard Haynes came to NEO from Sapulpa Oklahoma. He played for Red Robertson in 1963-64. His first year at NEO he helped to lead the Norseman to Oklahoma State Football Championship and an appearance in the 1963 Junior College Rose Bowl. He was an outstanding athlete for NEO and his talent did not go unnoticed, Haynes was recognized by the NJCAA as an All-American in 1963. In 1964 Haynes reached an NEO milestone by becoming the first Norseman to receive back to back All-American honors. Haynes went on to play for Central Missouri State where he received MIAA All Conference honors. In 2009 Haynes was inducted into the NJCAA Football Hall of Fame.
