Coming to NEO as a graduate of Kiefer High School, Dixie Woodall accrued impressive credentials as a player and later as a coach throughout her basketball career. While playing at NEO Woodall was voted MVP of the Okmulgee All Indian Tournament. She was a three-time AAU All-American in 1964, 1966, & 1967. She also played on the Nashville Business College’s 1960 AAU National Championship squad. Woodall earned a silver medal as a member of the USA squad that competed in the 1967 Pan American Games and also represent the U.S. on teams that toured South America in 1965 and competed in the FIBA World Championship in 1967. During her coaching career she amassed a combined record of 390-97 in 14 seasons as head coach at Seminole Junior College and Oral Roberts University. In 1976 she captured a junior college national championship crown while coaching at Seminole. Woodall served as the assistant coach for the USA squad that claimed a silver medal at the 1977 World University Games in Bulgaria. In 1998, she was inducted into the JUCO Hall of Fame. In 2005, she was inducted into the National Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame and was also recognized as one of NEO’s Outstanding Alumni.
