NEO Wrestling Qualifies Nine for NJCAA National Tournament

Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) Wrestling Team qualified nine individuals for the National Junior College Athletic Association National Wrestling Tournament in Council Bluffs, Iowa, March 6-7, 2026.

"We have had an extremely disciplined year, and this has been a very devout group of guys," said NEO Wrestling Head Coach
Joe Renfro. We have prepared as much as we can, and now it is up to them to see where we finish. College wrestling always comes down to the national tournament. I know this group is physically prepared; I just hope they trust that on a mental level. This has been a great group to coach."
NEO placed second as a team at the NJCAA South Central District Qualifier with 166 points. Individual results include:

Tyler Misenheimer – second place, 18 points

Zach Dawson – second place, 19 points

Tony Stewart – second place, 18.5 points

Ethan Nicholas – fourth place, 13.5 points

NEO Wrestling Head Coach
Joe Renfro is in his thirteenth season at the college. During his time at NEO, he has coached 76 All-Americans, more than 100 Academic All-Americans, ten individual national champions and three national champion teams. He was inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame in 2024 and serves as the NEO Athletic Director.
