The NEO Wrestling team delivered a strong performance at the Viking Open hosted by Carl Albert State College, highlighted by several top-four finishes and gritty efforts across the lineup.
Mason Gillispie (125 lbs) led the team with
17.5 points, reaching the
3rd-place match after a dominant run through the consolation bracket. Gillispie recorded four pins in under five minutes combined, showcasing his ability to finish quickly and decisively.
Tyler Misenheimer (141 lbs) earned
2nd place, scoring
14.0 points. Misenheimer opened with a major decision and a fall, then battled through the semifinals before falling in the championship bout.
Jude Beers (285 lbs) added

2nd-place finish. Beers dominated early rounds with back-to-back technical falls before dropping a sudden victory thriller in the finals.
Carter Foglesong (125 lbs) scored
8.0 points, joining Gillispie in the
3rd-place match. Foglesong bounced back from an opening-round loss to win five straight matches, including two technical falls and clutch decisions. As teammates, Gillispie and Foglesong did not wrestle the placement match, but both earned recognition for reaching it.

Several Norsemen added valuable team points despite not placing in the top four:

Zebediah Tibbles (125 lbs) opened with two big wins but was eliminated in the consolation bracket.
Ethan Nicholas (174 lbs),

Ashon Foster (165 lbs) all picked up key victories in early rounds, helping NEO maintain a strong team presence.
What's Next:
NEO will return to action at the Drury Open on Saturday, November 15, in Springfield, MO at Weiser Gym. The event will feature tough regional competition and provide another opportunity for the Golden Norsemen to build on their early-season momentum.
