Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lady Norse Softball team went over to Fort Scott Community College for a pair of evening games on Sunday, Feb 23rd. NEO played Allen Community College for the 6pm game and Fort Scott the following game. Both games were lop-sided in favor of The Lady Norse, putting up double digit runs on the night.

Game one against Allen featured a gem of a game thrown by sophomore pitcher Jill McDaniel. The righty threw five innings, only giving up 1 hit, 4 runs (0 earned), walking 5, and striking out 6. McDaniel left 9 on base and Allen only had a .045 batting average against her. Even though it was a chilly night, the Lady Norse put up 15 hits in five innings. The team was patient at the plate, walking 7 times, with only 2 strikeouts. Freshman Morgan Bandy led the offense with three hits, (2 singles, 1 homerun), 4 RBI's, and 1 walk. Corissa Bandel, Emily Carpenter, Kayley Iott, and Dasia Mason each added two hits individually, with one of Iott's being a homerun in the fourth. Adding a hit a piece to contribute to the offensive onslaught was Morgan Barnes, Chloe Gurley, Addi Hall, and Madi Pratt. The Lady Norse did not hold back on the stolen bases, swiping six bags in the five inning game. Bandel led with three, Carpenter stole two, and Mason swiped one bag quickly in the first. Game one ended with a 12-4 score.
 
Even though the temperature dropped with game two going late into the night, NEO's bats stayed hot, throwing another 14 hits on the board against host team Fort Scott. The team came out swinging and quickly put four runs on the board in the first inning. NEO scored another two in the third. While Fort Scott had a big bottom of the third to try and make a comeback, NEO scored four in the fourth, two in the fifth, one in the sixth, and capped it off with three runs in the seventh, all while not letting their opponent score again. Corissa Bandel and Morgan Barnes led with 3 hits apiece, Addi Hall and Madi Pratt both had a double and a single in the game, and Emily Carpenter, Chloe Gurley, Kayley Iott, and Dasia Mason each added a hit of their own. While there were no home runs, Capenter hit a triple; Barnes, Hall, and Pratt each had a double. The walks were crucial with nine total walks to keep innings alive, and runs being produced. Both Hall and Iott had team high 4 RBIs in the game. Bandel tacked on another two stolen bases against the Greyhounds. Bandel started in the circle, going three innings; giving up only 3 hits on 7 runs (4 earned), walking 3 and striking out 4. Mason came in and threw four innings of relief, only allowing 1 hit, 0 runs, walking two, and striking out 5, getting the save.
The score of game two was 16-7.  
 
The Lady Norse are back in action on Tuesday, February 25th against Coffeyville. First pitch is slated for 2pm. This game will be played at Wyandotte High School.
