Nail Biters and Run Rules


The Lady Norse welcomed three teams to Iverson Field on Saturday, February 24th. NEO played the first game against Neosho County, and finished up the day against Allen Community College. The Lady Norse went 2-0 on the day, beating both the Panthers and Red Devils. Game one, everyone was on the edge of their seat as NEO scored one in the first inning and kept the Panthers at bay, winning 1-0. Corissa Bandel held it down in the circle, striking out a career high, eleven batters to help secure the win. Madison Pratt and Sydney Price each had two hits, while Iott, Norton, and Wade all had one hit to total seven in the game. The Lady Norse had one error in the field. 

 

In the second game of the day NEO took on Allen Community College. Again the Lady Norse jumped out and scored in the first inning. Bandel collected three hits in three at bats. Destiny Tune also had three hits with two of them doubles. Calico tacked on two hits, one of them a triple in the third inning. Skyler Wade also had a multi hit game (2). Pratt and Ray each added a hit. The Lady Norse totaled twelve during game two. NEO swiped five bags during the game and were nearly perfect in the field with one error. Lillie Johnson pitched the complete game, going five innings. She only gave up three hits on one run. She had six strikeouts and three walks.
