Second Half Surge Nets Norsemen A Win Over Murray State In Conference Opener

The NEO Golden Norse Basketball Team walked away with an 86-74 conference opening victory Thursday evening in the fieldhouse vs. visiting Murray State College.  After an opening 20 minutes which saw the Norsemen take a 5 point lead into halftime, NEO used a suffocating defense and balanced offensive attack to surge to a 22 point lead more than mid-way through the second half.   Brian Moore Jr., coming off his Region 2 player of the week honor, led all scorer's with 23 points while dishing out 8 assists.  Forward Jonathan Mogbo followed with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks. John Harge finished in double figures as well with 13 points.

Other key performers for NEO were Kamryn Edwards and Adnan Hussein who netted 8 points and 9 points respectively, and Center Eric Rustin who continued to be a force at the rim with 4 blocks and 7 rebounds.

NEO takes to the road Friday and Saturday in Ottumwa, Iowa for the Indian Hills Courtside Classic. Friday the Norse take on Casper College out of Wyoming at 5:00pm, and finish the Classic Saturday at 7:00pm vs host Indian Hills.
