Continuing to search for some kind of offensive spark, the Northeastern A&M Golden Norsemen soccer team suffered a 3-0 shutout Sunday against Wentworth (Mo.) Military Academy on the NEO pitch.
With a 1-5 season record, coach John Parrigon's Golden Norse travel to St. Louis, Mo., Thursday for a 2 p.m. match with Florissant Valley Community College.
"We are still searching for someone to step up and become a leader on this team," Parrigon said. "Our defense has been very solid, but you can't beat anybody if you don't put points on the scoreboard."
The Red Devils' (2-0) grabbed a 1-0 midway through the first half on a goal by freshman forward Greg Townson.
During the second half the Red Devils' received goals from freshman right wing Stephen Coimbra and freshman defender Jose Gonzales to seal the win.
