NEOSHO, Mo. — With eight minutes left in the match, mid-fielder Joe Rice scored on an unassisted goal Tuesday to lead the Crowder College Roughriders to a 1-0 victory over the Northeastern A&M Golden Norsemen on the Crowder pitch.


"We had our chances," NEO head coach John Parrigon said. "We just couldn't get the ball into the net. 
"Our goalkeeper, Mykeal Marshall recorded four out of five saves on shots on goal, but we didn't put any points on the board."
NEO recorded one shot on goal in the first period and three in the second, but came away empty. The Norsemen also had one corner kick each period.
While snapping a two match win streak the Golden Norsemen are 3-7 on the season while Crowder is 5-5 overall.
The Norsemen will play a 4 p.m. match Thursday against Oklahoma Wesleyan University on the NEO grass soccer field.
