Shillalie Jones

Shillalie Jones is entering her 6th season as Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at NEO A&M College in 2022-2023. During her first year at NEO, the Lady Norse got their 5th consecutive Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference title with a 16-0 record and an overall record of 27-5. This also led them to a 3rd straight Regional Title and a berth in the National Tournament. Bethy Mununga and Mariam Gnanou were selected 1st team All-Region and Mikayla Shulanberger was named second team All-Region. Bethy Mununga was named MVP of Region 2. Mununga was also selected 2nd team All American by the NJCAA. for the 21-22 season Jones helped Led the Lady Norse back to the Region II Tournament. Kristina Ekofo was selected 2nd  Team All Region. For the 20-21 & 19-20 season Jones helped led the Lady Norse to the Region II semifinals . Dariann Myles was selected 2nd team All Region for 20-21 season and Ivvana Murrillo was selected 1st team All Region for 19-20. In 2018-2019 Jones got the opportunity to coach her sister Jo’Nah Johnson for her sophomore year. The Lady Norse made it back to the Region II finals with a runner up finish and an overall season record of 22-9. Bethy Mununga and Jo’Nah Johnson were selected first team All-Region with Mununga being named Region II MVP. She was also selected NJCAA 1st Team All American. In the Summer of 2018, Jones was selected to Coach in the 2018 NJCAA Top 40 All Star Game in Atlanta, GA.

Jones comes to NEO from Garden City Community College after serving the 2016-2017 season as Assistant Coach. In 2015 she became the Head Freshmen Coach and Assistant Varsity coach for Midwest City High School, in Midwest City, OK. As head freshmen coach she led the team to an overall record of 16-3.  In her first year of coaching she helped assist MWC to a 6A state Championship in 2016 with an overall record of 25-4.

Jones is from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She played basketball for Putnam City North High school, where she was a 4 year varsity starter. Selected OBCA All State (2009), Big All-City (2009), Metro Athletic Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Year (2008 & 2009). She went on to play for Seminole State College, in Seminole, OK. After Seminole she transferred to play at Henderson State University for a year. Finished her senior year out at Langston University.  At Langston she helped lead the team to conference Runner ups in the Red River Athletic Conference in 2014. Which led the team to participate in NAIA Nationals in 2014. At Nationals she received the 2013-2014 Champion of Character Award. Ranked 41st out 500 in NAIA for Assist/Turnover ratio.
Jones has also been very involved for the past 8 years with Oklahoma Select, one of top AAU Organizations in Oklahoma. She has helped these girls to DI & DII Scholarships. Which also helped a few of her girls become Nationally ranked in the 2017 recruiting class.
