An impressive offensive day leads to a conference sweep of NOC Enid on Monday, April 6th.
NEO was off and scoring in the top of the second inning (two runs), added five runs in the third, and then secured the win with three more in the fifth, leading to a 10-4 win in game one. There were 7 hits, 10 walks, and 4 strikeouts for a complete team win. Danica Tune led with two hits. Holcomb, Hall, Tedlock, Mason, and Bieber each tacked on a hit a piece. Mason was strong in the circle, going the complete game; giving up 7 hits on 4 runs (2 earned) with 1 walk and 4 strikeouts.
Game two, the Lady Norse wasted no time scoring four in the top of the first inning and batting one through nine. NEO put up two runs in the top of the third and then another four in the fourth inning to secure a 10-1 run rule victory. The entire starting lineup each had a hit. Holcomb, Kelly, Tedlock, and Tune all had two hits in the game. Bieber, Hall, Helm, Howe, and Marris all tacked on a hit, for a combined thirteen hits as a team. Tedlock and Hall both had a double, while Bieber and Marris each had a home run. The Lady Norse were still patient and drew four walks in the game. Tune also had a stolen base. Gracie MacIntosh pitched a gem, going the full five innings, giving up only three hits and one run (unearned) with three walks and three strikeouts. Addi Hall caught a runner stealing in the bottom of the fifth.
NEO picks up again on Thursday for a home rematch against NOC Enid, looking to sweep the series. Game time is slated for a 2pm start time.
