NEO A&M College Names Blake Mills Head Coach of NEO Men's Basketball
Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (NEO) Director of Athletics Joe Renfro announced today that
Blake Mills has been named as the NEO Men's Basketball Head Coach.
"We are extremely excited that Coach Mills has taken the position as our new head men's basketball coach," said Renfro. Coach Mills did a remarkable job as an assistant and interim head coach here at NEO, and I know he will continue his hard work ethic in this promoted role."
Mills began his college coaching career in 2018 at Eastern Oklahoma State College under veteran coach Scott Edgar, who also coached Mills during his playing days. During his tenure at Eastern, he played an integral role in guiding the team to consecutive 20-win seasons, while also managing recruiting, player development, academic support, team travel, and budget oversight. Mills has been at NEO since 2022 and recently completed his fourth season with the NEO Men's Basketball program.
"First, I want to thank the administration for believing in our vision," said Mills. "I am incredibly honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead the NEO Men's Basketball program. I have deep respect for the tradition here and for the people who built it. Our focus will be simple — serve our players, represent NEO with pride, and pursue excellence every single day. That pursuit starts with accountability, player development, and a commitment to each other. We will honor the past, embrace the present, and build a future that we can all be proud of."
