Lady Norse Drop Two at Seminole

NEO Softball opened up conference with a road series against Seminole State. The Lady Norse came up just short in game one in an 8 inning battle, despite out hitting Seminole, losing 3-4 in heartbreaking fashion. Lillie Johnson took the tough loss in the circle. She pitched the full eight innings, giving up four runs on nine hits, striking out seven and walking four. Hadley Calico led the Lady Norse in RBI, with a big two run double in the top of the fourth inning and tying the game at three. Leadoff Destiny Tune led the offense with three hits, Madalyn Norton and Madison Pratt each had two hits in the game. To add to the offense Corissa Bandel, Calico, and Camille Davidson each added a hit to total the ten team hits. Kayley Iott and Hadley Calico each had a stolen base. The Lady Norse were perfect in the field, not committing a single error in 25 chances.

Game two did not go NEO's way with a 2-8 loss to the Trojans. Corissa Bandel started the game and pitched the first inning but had to come out of the game due to an offensive injury. Morgan Wright threw four innings of relief for NEO. She allowed three runs on four hits, striking out one and walking two. Jill McDaniel came in and pitched an inning out of the bullpen, allowing one run on two hits, walking none and striking out one. The Lady Norse were once again sure handed in the field and did not commit an error on defense. The Lady Norse had 8 hits in game two but could not push runs across, scoring only two. Skyler Wade led the offense with two hits. Davidson, Iott, McDaniel, Norton, Price, and Tune each added one hit to contribute. Davidson and Iott's were both doubles.
