The Lady Norse opened spring break with a Monday afternoon sweep of Labette County. The Lady Norse bounced back quickly from Seminole and took care of Labette in two, five inning run rule games. The offense game one was hot with 10 hits and 13 runs. All ten hits were singles, but thanks to speed on the basepaths runners were moved into scoring position with eight stolen bases.
Hadley Calico and
Emily Carpenter led with three each.
Destiny Tune and
Madalyn Norton both had one a piece. A huge highlight for the game were the eleven walks that the Lady Norse were patient enough to earn. Sophomore
Lillie Johnson started and went four innings, giving up five runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out six.
Morgan Wright threw an inning in relief, allowing no runs, no hits, walking one, and striking out two. There were no errors in the field.
Camille Davidson led with seven put outs and one assist.
Game two also went to NEO with a 10-2 win in five innings. Sophomore RHP
Skyler Wade went the five inning stretch and got the complete game win. Wade allowed five hits and two runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out three and walking one. The Lady Norse had one error in the field with twenty-six chances. Catcher
Camille Davidson threw out two of three runners attempting to steal. The Lady Norse had twelve total hits. 9 singles, 1 double, and 2 homeruns. Each with two hits: Bandel, Davidson, Iott, Pratt, Wade. Tacking on a hit each was Calico and Ray. Both Davidson and Pratt had homeruns on the game.
