Sophomore Day Sweep

Saturday couldn't have been a more beautiful day at the ballpark for sophomore and alumni day at Iverson Field. The Lady Norse also took care of business on the field against visiting NOC Enid. There was a little bit of Deja-Vu with both scores being 6-1, in favor of the Lady Norse.
Sophomore RHP Kayla Paulo led things off in the pitcher's circle for game one. KP allowed seven hits and only one run over seven innings, striking out three. Sarah Campbell led NEO with two hits in three at bats. NEO had a big five-run inning in the 4th, with Compton, Hannon, Horn, Price, and Campbell all scoring. The offense really manufactured runs for the win. They tallied up the walks, Calico had a SAC bunt to move runners, Horn was hit by a pitch, and Price and Campbell tacked on two hits. There were six total hits and six walks with no strikeouts from the Lady Norse

Game two ran a lot like the first, but NEO spread their scoring out, scoring in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th innings. The Lady Norse fired up the offense in the first inning, whe Destiny Tune singled on a 0-1 count, scoring Kendall Hannon, who was on from an opposite field single. Hadley Calico led off the second inning with a hit by pitch and then came around to score from a stolen base and Payton Compton's double that followed shortly after. NEO tacked another one on in the bottom of the fourth when Sarah Campbell doubled, and Compton scored her with a single up the middle. The Lady Norse put up three insurance runs in the fifth inning.  Hadley Calico, Sarah Campbell, and Paige Morrall all drove in runs in the frame. The NEO Lady Norse racked up 11 hits in the game. Campbell, Payton Compton, and Kendall Hannon all managed multiple hits. Madison Lee also had a single and a hit by pitch. Horn, Tune, Price each added a hit. Tune and Calico had a stolen base each. Freshman righty Lillie Johnson pitched the entirety of game two, going all seven innings, facing thirty batters. She allowed seven hits and one run, giving up no earned runs, while striking out five and walking zero.
