Kate Faber shut down Eastern State College, throwing a complete game shutout and leading NEO a 4-0 victory for game one on Saturday afternoon. Faber went seven innings, allowing zero runs on four hits, striking out three and walking one. In the first inning, the Lady Norse got their offense started when Payton Compton hit a solo homer. NEO scattered six hits in the game. The girls moved runners into scoring position and had timely hits, only leaving four on base. Torres and Horn both had a stolen base. Compton led in the RBI category with two. Hall also tacked on an RBI in the second. Compton and Tara Hall all collected multiple hits with two. Donaldson and Torres both had a hit as well. The Lady Norse didn't commit a single error in the field, with 35 total chances. Kayla Paulo had 11 chances in the field, the most on the team.
16 hits push NEO to a 15-4 win for a decided win for game two in Saturday's double header against Eastern. NEO came out with blazing bats right from inning one when the first three hitters had leadoff singles followed by Kate Faber cleaning up the base paths. Kate Faber came to the ballpark and meant business on Saturday, driving in five on two hits to lead NEO past Eastern 15-4 on Saturday. Faber drove in runs on a double in the first and a home run in the second. The second inning was a complete offensive onslaught with 9 runs in the innings. Paxton Donaldson, Payton Compton, Faber, Calee Gregory, and Donaldson, each had RBIs in the inning. NEO smacked one home run during the second game. Faber had an absolute missile that went dead center in the second inning. Donaldson went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead NEO Lady Norse in hits. Gregory, Compton, Hall, Campbell, and Faber each had two hits. Siri, Horn, and Torres tacked on a hit a piece. Hall also added a walk, and the Lady Norse took advantage of their quick feet with five stolen bases with Donaldson taking two and Gregory, Horn, and Torres each swiping a bag. The RBI's were also running wild with Kate Faber leading in the category with five. Donaldson, Gregory, and Hall had two a piece and Payton Compton added one in the second. Kayla Paulo took the win for game two. Paulo surrendered four runs on eight hits over five innings, striking out three, only having to pitch five innings to earn the win.
