Lady Norse Start Conference 2-0

Lady Norse Softball started conference play on Tuesday, March 3rd at University of Arkansas Rich Mountain. Despite the long day of travel the girls came out ready to fight and did whatever it took to win the games. Game one was a dog fight, going ten innings. Faber was the winning pitcher. The righthander went the entire ten innings, allowing nine hits and five runs while striking out five. Faber helped herself in the tenth inning with a laser over the left field fence, securing the win. NEO scored early in the first inning, when Makiah Torres grounded out, scoring Paxton Donaldson. The girls were quick on their feet with five total stolen bases. Tune, Ishmael, Donaldson, Aud, and Horn each had a swiped bag. NEO Lady Norse totaled seven hits in the game. Felicity Horn and Paxton Donaldson all managed multiple hits for NEO. Destiny Tune, Kate Faber, and Sarah Campbell all tacked on a hit to help contribute to the win.

Game two was a little more decisive. NEO came out all cylinders firing to defeat UARM in a blow-out victory. Evy Aud got the win for game two, throwing six innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out four and walking one. She also defended her circle well, facing 25 batters, and not committing an error in the four balls that were hit back at her. NEO took advantage of the free passes with 6. Faber and Hall both had two a piece along with Paulo and Torres adding a walk as well. Torres also tacked on another stolen base. Faber was feeling the long ball and she sent her second of the day over the left field wall in the fifth inning. Donaldson led at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two singles and a triple.
