The softball team was back at it in conference play on Sunday, hosting NOC Enid. NEO waited until the fifth inning to secure the lead. Enid was ahead by a run until the third inning, when Tara Hall had a sacrifice hit to move Paxton Donaldson into scoring position, and Makiah Torres followed it up with an RBI single. The game stayed tied at one until the bottom of the fifth when Kate Faber singled on a 3-2 count, scoring both Tara Hall and Calee Gregory. NEO Lady Norse collected 11 hits. Paige Morrall and Evy Aud each managed multiple hits. Morrall led offensively with a perfect three hits in three at bats. The pitching was strong for NEO, with Kate Faber earning the win. The righty went the entire seven innings, allowing one run on nine hits, striking out four and walking zero.
Game two was also close with a 5-3 victory over Enid. The game was once again tied with NEO batting in the bottom of the fifth when Calee Gregory's sac fly scored one run, opening up a four-run inning to secure the win. Hall, Torres, Faber, and Aud all scored in the fifth off of a sac fly, two singles, and a hit by pitch. NEO totaled nine hits for game two. Kate Faber, Makiah Torres, and Tara Hall each managed multiple hits for NEO. Mahala Battiest and Evy Aud tacked on a hit a piece. Faber went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits. Evy Aud was credited with the victory for NEO. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing three runs on nine hits and striking out two.
