Monday night's soccer match between NEO and Crowder was a tale of two halves. In the first half NEO found themselves on their heels. While playing a good possession game NEO struggled to get anything going forward. Crowder controlled the game in the early going by getting forward with pace frequently. NEO defended well in an attempt to absorb the attack, however in the 11^th minute Crowder moved a ball across the top of the box to Olivier Zampatti, who picked it up with pace to put away the early goal for Crowder. From that, point Crowder was less threatening, but NEO struggled to get any offense going. With just 2 minutes remaining in the first, half crowded played a long ball into the box. A crowd of players huddled underneath it the ball. It came out of the huddle at an awkward angle toward NEO's net to slip past the keeper.
The second half was a different game. NEO came out with a different energy and possessed the ball in their offensive half for the vast majority of the match. After several attacking attempts, NEO's offense force a PK in the 77^th minute. Marc Rivora would put away the attempt to bring the game with in 1. Minutes later Jake Sorenson put a shot off the left post for the potential equalizer. The Norsemen created several more attempts in the final minutes of the game but time ran out on the comeback attempt.
