Men's Soccer drop conference opener to Rich Mountain.

In the opening minutes of the game NEO was put in a bad situation when Rich Mountain was awarded a PK. Ethyn Willis however came up big with the save, keeping the score tied at zero. From that moment, NEO seemed to pick up some momentum. 10 minutes later NEO forced the issue pushing forward and earned a corner kick for their efforts. On the kick, Angel Avalos got the final touch on a ball that bounced around in the 6-yard box to put NEO up 1-0. NEO would build numerous attacks in the remainder of the half; however, the game would go to the break at 1-0.

Unfortunately for NEO, the second half would belong to Rich Mountain. About 7 minutes in the half Rich Mountain would score on a breakaway to even the score. The game from that point was a back and forth battle. In the 72nd minute Rich Mountain intercepted pass from the NEO defense and quickly organized a counter attack. Rich Mountain finished the goal and took the lead 1-2. NEO was unable to find the Equalizer in the remaining minutes.
