Lady Norse Break The Losing Streak With a 6-0 Victory Over Rich Mountain

Scoring 2 goals in the first half the Lady Norse gradually gathered momentum in Sunday's game against Rich Mountain and walked away with a 6-0 victory putting them 2-5-1 in conference play.

The game at Rich Mountain was the first in the second round of conference games.  They are currently tied for 5th place in the OCAC.

Freshman goalie, Julia Bruner (Jules), received her 3rd shutout with 5 saves on the day.

"The team is finally pulling together and playing with the heart they need to play with in order to finish games!" said Head Coach Lisa Bell.  "Seyton Thomas had the first goal and it was a pure hustle play.  If she had given up or stopped going after the ball even for a second the opportunity wouldn't have happened. These girls are now determined and it's a great feeling and it's exciting to watch on the sideline.  I'm proud of them!"

The first goal was scored by Seyton Thomas with an assist from Brianna Cox (Bri) in the 16th minute of play.  Shortly following that goal sophomore Kim Lopez dropped a ball to Bri for goal number 2.

The score held at 2-0 the remainder of the first half.

10 minutes into the second half Makayla Baker played a ball to Seyton Thomas who finished yet another attempt.  On Seyton's 3rd attempt at goal she was brought down in the box and the team was awarded a penalty kick which was finished by Bri Cox.  Bri then scored 3 minutes later off an assist by Alexandria Baker (Lexi).  The 6th and final goal came off another hustle play by Seyton Thomas just 2 short minutes after Bri scored.

"We have been working a lot in front of the goal here lately and it shows.  The girls are hungry for goals now!" said Bell.

The Lady Norse are at home Thursday with Redlands at 5:00pm on Red Robertson Field.
