Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Lady Norse Still Struggling To Find Success

Though the score doesn't look great for the Lady Norse at the end of the 90 minutes with #9 ranked Seminole State, the Lady Norse gave a good battle Thursday evening at Red Robertson Field.

"We've recently had conversations about the team as a whole having heart for 90 minutes.  We've had conversations about not giving up when a goal is scored and fighting to win a ball back when we've made a bad decision or bad touch.  Thursday's game we had 90 minutes of heart from every girl!  It was a tough battle." said Coach Lisa Bell.

The Lady Norse dropped the game 5-0 but the energy around the field wasn't that of a 5-0 loss.

"As a coach you hate seeing your players fail.  It's even worse when you can't keep their heads up and keep them engaged when they are down," said Bell. "There wasn't a single point where I felt like they gave up and I'm proud of them for that! When we spoke at half time we talked about how we weren't going to turtle up and play only defense.  Our goal was nothing in our net and generate as much offense as we could but we weren't going to give up and drop everyone back, we were going to put up a fight and play the best soccer we could."

The Lady Norse are struggling in conference play with only 3 points to their credit.  With 7 games left there is still plenty of season to make a comeback and with the way the girls are playing now it could happen. Don't count them out!

The Lady Norse are on the road Sunday in Mena, AR with Rich Mountain at 1pm.
