Paige Miller, a sophomore defender from Grove, accounted for the lone Lady Norse goal on a header off a corner kick by freshman forward
Kenzie Saul.
"The first half, they put virtually no pressure on us, staying at about the 40-yard line," NEO coach
Lisa Bell said. "They were trying to get us to make mistakes."
However, freshman keeper
Sarah Zerbest rose to the occasion and kept the Lady Tigers off the board.
"It's our first game out and we have several girls in new positions," Bell said. "We aren't upset about it."
NEO travels to Chanute, Kansas, Saturday, Aug. 25 for matches against Neosho County Community College.
That kicks off a stretch of five straight road games.
NEO opens the home portion of the schedule Wednesday, Sept. 12 against Eastern State College.
