The Lady Norse Soccer team fought hard in the 109 minute 30 second game against Seminole at Red Robertson Field today.
Good ball movement and team effort just didn't get it done for the Lady Norse.
"I'm very proud of the girls and the effort they put into the game today. Ultimately they lost the game going for a W, not a tie. I can't hardly fault them for that." said Head Coach
Lisa Bell. "It's never fun or easy to lose a game especially when you've played so long and hard to win it. It was a great game all around for the girls."
With 1 minute left in the last overtime period the Lady Norse took a corner kick and came up short. They were all in with only 1 defender left back trying their hardest to score the golden goal. Unfortunately for the Norse, the ball bobbled back out and Seminole was on the run 2v1 with an NEO defender who just wasn't able to hold them off.
Seminole scored with a little over 30 seconds on the clock ending the game.
"It was a heartbreaker for sure," said Bell of the loss. "We have to keep our heads up. We still have 2 more games to play this season."
The Lady Norse will take the field again Sunday vs Redlands.
