Wrestlers Go 5-0 at Mid West Duals

WRESTLERS WIN FIVE MATCHES at MID WEST DUALS
 
The Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College wrestlers traveled to Kearney, Nebraska on Friday (1/13/2017) for the University of Nebraska Kearney Midwest Duals and came away with five victories to improve their season record to 12-1. Four wins came against NJCAA opponents.The Norsemen, currently the NJCAA #1 ranked team improved their dual meet record to 12-1. Fourteen student-athletes represented NEO in Nebraska and all won at least one match.

NEO wrestled all five matches on Friday starting with NJCAA #7 ranked Otero, Colorado. The Norse won 8 of 10 matches for a 42-9 victory.  In the second match NEO defeated Jamestown, ND College (a four year NAIA school) 34-12 winning 7 matches. The third match of the day allowed NEO to compete with NJCAA West-Central District Colby, KS CC and secure a 47-3 victory winning 9 matches.  In the fourth match of the day, the Norsemen won their third shutout victory of the year over NJCAA #15 Northwest Kansas technical College 48-0. The final match of the day was a 44-6 victory over another West Central District opponent Pratt Kansas CC.

The Norsemen wrestlers will be home on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 when they host Neosho Kansas CC in a 7:00 PM matchup with another NJCAA West Central District team in the Student Activity Center.
