MIAMI — Sophomore midfielder Arian Laird scored the only goal of the soccer match Sunday as the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Lady Norse defeated Eastern State College Lady Mountaineers 1-0 at Red Robertson Field.
While standing 3-1 in the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference, the Lady Norse are 6-2 on the season.
The Lady Norse remains on their home pitch at 5 p.m. Friday for a conference match with the Lady Raiders of Rose State College. The Lady Raiders are 1-0 in the OCAC and 9-2 overall.
Laird, from Coweta, broke a scoreless tie with an unassisted goal at the 35-minute mark of the first half.
NEO goal keeper Darista Herrera denied both shots made by Eastern on goal during the match.
NEO took four shots on goal in the first half and three during the second 45-minute period.
