MIAMI — Three first half goals carried the No. 20 ranked Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Golden Norsemen to a 3-0 shutout Thursday in the home opener at Red Robertson Field over the Metropolitan Community College-Blue River Trail Blazers.
Starting a four-match homestand, coach John Parrigon's Norsemen are 2-1 on the season while the Trail Blazers from Lees-Summit, Missouri are 2-3 on the year.
The Golden Norsemen host the Crowder Community Roughriders at 7 p.m. Tuesday. The Roughriders are 2-1 overall.
 Sophomore defender Ryan McLaughlin started NEO's scoring barrage after receiving a pass from veteran midfielder Matheus Abreu early in the first half. McLaughlin buried the shot in the back of the net for a 1-0 Norse lead.
Six minutes later freshman forward Casey Johnson scored an unassisted goal to boost the Golden Norsemen to a 2-0 margin.
NEO's final goal by Victor Arias off a pass from Gustavo Requeijo ended the scoring run as time ticked off the first half.
Golden Norse goalkeeper Mario Juarez repelled both shots — one in each half — attempted by the Trail Blazers.
