Casey Johnson to score 19 minutes into the second overtime to lead the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Golden Norsemen to a 2-1 victory Sunday on the Mountaineers pitch.
While winning their fourth consecutive match, the Golden Norse are 2-1-1 in the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference. NEO is 8-3-1 on the season.
The Norsemen return to Red Robertson Field at 7:30 p.m. Thursday for a crucial OCAC match with Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa. The Mavericks are 1-2 in the conference and 8-5 overall.
After a scoreless first half, the Golden Norsemen grabbed a 1-0 lead with 50 minutes showing on the clock.

Hector Marin for a goal to give NEO the lead.
The Mavericks responded 20 minutes later with a goal by Lucus Almeida on an assist from David Marshall.
During the first overtime period the Norsemen took three shots compared to one by the Mountaineers. NEO also had a 2-1 margin in corner kicks.
With one minute remaining in the second overtime the Johnson-to-Rodriquez combo clicked for the winning goal.
NEO played a near-flawless match with no fouls in four periods while the Mountaineers record 12.
