MOORE — After opening the regular season with two straight victories on their home court, the Northeastern A&M women's volleyball team played an afternoon match Tuesday against the Southwestern Christian College junior varsity on the Moore campus.
Coach Eric Iverson's Norse continue a three match road trip at 4:30 p.m. Friday against the Labette Community College Panthers in Parsons, Kansas.
The Norse carried a perfect 2-0 season record to Moore following a 3-0 shutout over the Independence (Kansas) Community College Pirates in the NEO Student Activity Center.
"We played very well against Independence," Iverson said. "The entire match we had a very solid, balanced attack.
"Ball control continued to be our major strength," Iverson said. "We were a little flat in the second game, but picked it back up and finished strong."
NEO opened the best of five match with a 25-12 victory. The Norse rallied for a 25-13 win in the second game before cruising to a 25-8 victory to capture the match.
