Homecoming Win For Norse

MIAMI  — Balanced scoring in all four quarters carried the Northeastern A&M College Golden Norsemen to a 54-24, homecoming victory Saturday night at Red Robertson Field over Arkansas Baptist College of Little Rock.
With the victory coach Ryan Held's Golden Norse are 3-2 on the season while the ABC Buffaloes are 1-5 overall.
The Golden Norsemen return to Southwest Junior College Football Conference action next Saturday at 2 p.m. by hosting the No. 20 ranked Navarro College Bulldogs from Corsicana, Texas. Prior to Saturday's conference game at Kilgore, the Bulldogs are 1-1 in the league and 2-2 overall.
Three members of the Norsemen ground game eclipsed the 100-yard plateau.
Sophomore Jesse Gregory led the onslaught with 137 yards on 11 carries and touchdown runs of 1 and 17 yards,
Veteran tailback Cameron Booty contributed 111 yards on 14 carries with a 2 yard TD run.
Freshman Willie Jordan gained 109 yards on 14 attempts along with a 16-yard touchdown scamper.
Sophomore quarterbacks Mackland Waldman and Zac Cater alternated under center for NEO as the Norsemen built a 16-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Booty's 2-yard TD run and an 11-yard touchdown pass from Cater to Khalil Warren enabled NEO to carry a 30-0 cushion to the locker room at half.
Touchdown runs of 12-yards by Gregory in the third quarter and 3-yards by Waldman and 16-yards by Jordan in the fourth accounted for additional NEO points.
Along with kicking seven extra points, Gabriel Rui contributed a 27-yard field goal in the third quarter.
