MIAMI - Balanced scoring and strong play around the net carried the Northeastern A&M College Golden Norsemen soccer team to a 3-1 victory Friday night at Red Robertson Field against the Tigers of Cowley County (Kansas) Community College.
While winning their regular season home opener, coach
John Parrigon's Golden Norse are 2-1 on the year. The loss dropped the Tigers to 1-2 on the season.
The Golden Norsemen face Metropolitan Community College-Blue River at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Independence, Missouri. The Trail Blazers are 2-1 overall.

Michael Husbands propelled the Norsemen to a 2-0 lead at the end of the first half.
Veteran
Jordan James added a goal midway through the second half as the Golden Norse constructed a 3-0 cushion.
Cowley County's only point came with 10 minutes left in the match as sophomore forward Leonardo Armando slipped the ball into the back of the net.
