MIDWEST CITY — An unassisted goal by sophomore forward Raunice Butler carried the No. 19 ranked Northeastern A&M College Norse to a 1-0 Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Rose State College Sunday afternoon at Red Robertson Field.
While extending their current winning streak to six matches, coach Lisa Bell's Norse are tied with No. 12 rated Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa with a 3-1 conference record. NEO is 13-2 on the season while the Lady Mavericks are 12-2 overall.
The two teams square off at 2 p.m. Thursday on the NOC-Tonkawa pitch.
Butler, from Nassau, Bahamas, scored at the 13-minute mark of the first half against the Rose State Lady Raiders (1-3 and 8-7).
Five of NEO's 14 total shots were on-goal led by two from forward Paige Logsdon.
Norse goalie Demi Schlageter recorded nine saves in nine shots-on-goal attempts by Rose State.
