MIAMI — Two teams finished undefeated Saturday in the annual Division II Region XVI Pre-Regional Volleyball Tournament held in the Northeastern A&M Student Activity Center.


Coach Eric Iverson's Norse gained 2-0 victories over East Central College of Union, Mo., and Wentworth Military Academy of Lexington, Mo., while the Lakers of Metropolitan Community College-Longview won two games each over East Central and Wentworth to finish undefeated.
While extending their winning streak to three consecutive matches, the Norse are 9-8 on the season. NEO remains at home Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match with Cottey College of Nevada, Mo., in the Student Activity Center.
Opening the pre-regional tournament against East Central (8-11), the Norse battled to a 27-25 victory in the first game Saturday before winning the best-of-three match by a  25-19 score.
Squaring off against Wentworth (3-20) in the second match, the Norse cruised to a 25-14 and 25-13 win.
The Lakers (6-8) faced East Central in their first match and posted a 25-18 and 25-16 victory before defeating Wentworth  25-15 and 25-10 scores.
Cottey (3-6) defeated Wentworth 2-0 before losing 2-0 to East Central.
