Concluding a two-match homestand, the Northeastern A&M Norse volleyball team entertain the Pirates of Independence (Kan.) Community College Friday ay 6 p.m. in the Student Activity Center.


Winners of four consecutive matches to start the season, coach Eric Iverson's Lady Norse are off to their best start since the program began in 1997.
Against Cottey College (0-3)  of Nevada, Mo., on Wednesday, the Norse dispatched of the Comets in three straight games to extend their current winning streak to 12 straight games.
After cruising to a 25-10 win in the first game, the Norse won 25-18 before ending the best three-out-of-five match with a hard fought 25-23 victory.
Freshmen outside hitter Callie McNeil and middle blocker Chelsey Berton currently lead the Norse with 15 killls each while middle blocker Kylie Baker has provided 11 kills on the young season. Sophomore deep setter Marissa Kerby leads NEO with nine diggs.
Last weekend the Norse swept a triangular match. NEO opened the match by winning 25-12, 25-22 and 25-18 against the Crusaders of Evangel University junior varsity from Springfield, Mo. 
The Norse swept three games 25-5, 25-7 and 25-11 against the junior varsity Eagles of Southwest Christian University from Bethany.
