TONKAWA — Searching for their first Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference and Region 2 championships, the Northeastern A&M Norse women's soccer team squares off against Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa, Saturday at 2 p.m. in the regular season finale.

Lisa Bell's Norse posted a 5-0 shutout on Tuesday over the Metropolitan Community College-Maple Woods Monarchs in Kansas City, Mo. With the win the Norse are 4-12-1 on the season and 1-0 in the OCAC and Region 2.
With a tie or a victory, the Norse will represent the region in the best two-out-of-three District I Tournament on Nov. 8-9 at the winner of Region 5 which encompasses West Texas.
Should the Mavericks win Saturday's match, a coin toss would be used to determine where a third match between NOC-Tonkawa and NEO will be played.
The District I winner advances to the National Junior College Athletic Association Women's Division I National Championship, Nov. 18-23, on the campus of Eastern Florida State College in Melbourne, Fla.
NEO grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first 17 minutes of the match against Maple Woods on a goal by forward
Joya Smith off an assist by center mid-fielder
Brianna Anderson.
Smith found the back of the net at the 38-minute mark on a pass from defender Hanna Colina to give the Norse a 2-0 margin.
Norse right wing
Jennifer Cudjoe scored an unassisted goal with two minutes before halftime as the Norse constructed a 3-0 cushion.
During the second half, Smith earned a hat trick at the 69-minute mark off an assist by
Leidiane Capobianco.
NEO's final goal occurred with 75 minutes gone inn the match as Anderson took a pass from Smith and found the back of the net.
