Box Score With five players scoring in double figures, the Northeastern A&M Golden Norsemen earned an 86-76 victory Thursday night over the Jets of Northern Oklahoma College-Enid in the NEO Fieldhouse.
“We players really well as a team,” Golden Norse head coach
Dustin Grover said. “We not only had good ball movement all night, but we controlled the boards at both ends.”
With the victory, the Norsemen are 7-4 in the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference and 14-9 overall. NEO travels to Altus on Monday for a conference double-header with Western State College starting at 5 p.m.
Freshman forward Frederico Santos completed his 17th double-double of the season to lead the Norse with 20 points and 18 rebounds.
Ja'mill Powell contributed 16 points while
Derrick Frye came off the bench to score 15, Jeff Newberry 12 and
Jake Roach 11.
The Golden Norse needed every point to counteract the 31-point performance by Jets' sophomore guard Dalen Qualls. Jeremy Espinoza added 17 points for NOC-Enid.
