Box Score TONKAWA – Sophomore forward Dareon Jones sank three 3-point field goals during the five-minute overtime Monday night to give the Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa Mavericks a 76-74 victory over Northeastern A&M College in the Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.

Dustin Grover's Golden Norsemen, the Mavericks completed a sweep of the regular season series. Coach Brett Weiberg's Mavs won 76-60 on Nov. 19 in Miami.
With the loss the Norsemen are 6-4 in the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference and 13-9 on the year. The Golden Norse host Northern Oklahoma College-Enid at 8 p.m. Thursday in Miami.
Northern's Mavericks are tied with Connors for the OCAC with an 8-2 record. The Mavs are 19-3 overall.
During regulation play, the lead changed hands 14 times before ending in a 65-65 draw at the buzzer. Jones, who led the Mavericks with 20 total points, also tacked on a 2-point field goal with time running down.
NEO's Jeff Newberry fired off a long-ranged shot at the buzzer in regulation, but the shot failed to draw iron.
Jones (6-5 from Toledo, Ohio) thrilled the partisan crowd with three consecutive 3-pointers from long range while NEO failed to keep pace in overtime.
