Brian Watters enters his first season with NEO after joining Coach Crissup’s staff as the Special Teams Coordinator and Wide Receivers Coach on July 22, 2021. For Watters, he joins the Golden Norsemen after a brief stint as Wide Receivers Coach at Franklin Pierce University.
Prior to Franklin Pierce, Watters made stops in Georgia at Georgia Prep School Academy, Rome High School, and Flowery Branch High School. While coaching at Flowery Branch, his receiving core amassed 2425 yards and 19 touchdowns on 138 catches in his final season. Two members of the core, Connor Larson and Baxley O’Brien were GHSA All-State selections.
As a Wide Receiver for the University of Central Florida, Watters finished as a 2x CUSA Champion and Liberty Bowl Champion. He recorded 1505 yards receiving on 115 catches with 8 touchdowns and started on three special teams throughout his collegiate career. In 2008 and 2010 he led UCF in all receiving categories and was rewarded as UCF’s Wide Receiver of the Year in both. In 2010, he was CUSA Honorable Mentioned. After UCF, Watters attended rookie camp with the Montreal Allouettes of the CFL.
Watters is a native of Rome, GA and received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminal Justice from UCF in 2010. He has two children, Skylar and Christopher.
