Coach Keith Herring was previously the head coach for the Monroe Mustangs Junior Varsity team located in New Rochelle, NY from 2017 to 2019. He also contributed as an assistant coach/strength and conditioning coach on the Mustangs Varsity squad. In the 2018 & 2019 seasons, the Varsity team made appearances in the D1 JUCO World Series located in Grand Junction, CO.
Keith attended and graduated (2009) from Norman Thomas High School and played on the Varsity baseball team for 3 of his 4 years. In 2009, he helped his team make history with the school’s first ever city title.
Keith began his collegiate career at Monroe College. During his time there he received the team’s Most Valuable Player award his freshman and sophomore seasons. He was also part of the 1stTeam All Region regular season teams as a shortstop both years.
After two years at Monroe, Keith transferred to Long Island University/CW Post Campus (NCAA Dll). For his finally two seasons as a collegiate ball player, he was awarded the newcomer award in 2012, was placed on the ECAC(East Coast Athletic Conference) 1st team in 2012 and ECAC 2nd team in 2013. He completed his senior year as the team’s Most Valuable Player in 2013.
