Game 1- The Rose State Raiders walk it off against the Golden Norsemen in extra innings in game 1 of their 3 game match-up. The Norsemen jumped out on top early and the Raiders slowly got back into the game. The Raiders took the lead in the middle of the game.
Marek Lalonde hit a home run to help the Norsemen on the scoreboard.
Eliott Marin cleared the bases with a triple to left center late in the game. The Raiders would get two base runners on in the bottom of the 10th inning. They would hit a hard ground ball that took a bad hop off of the edge of the dirt that skips by the first basemen to score the runner from second to secure the game 1 victory from NEO.
Game 2- The Golden Norsemen were looking to bounce back after a thrilling loss in extra innings on day 1. They did just that.
Alex Descarreaux started the scoring off with a 2-run home-run.
Marek Lalonde continued to be hot at the plate by hitting 2 home-runs in the game and recording 5 RBI's for the Norsemen.
Marek Lalonde also pitched a solid game for the Norsemen.
Eliott Marin earned the save in game 2.
Jackson Garcia had 1 RBI on a Sac Fly and
Alex Descarreaux had 4 total RBI's on the day. The Norsemen would win 12-7.
Game 3- The day continued to get better for the Norsemen as they scored 3 runs in the first inning with a double by
Eliott Marin that scored
Jordan Forde and
Alex Descarreaux that had walked earlier in the inning.
Dylan Akers pitched a great game for the Norsemen. He went 7.1 innings only allowing 3 hits.
Damon Cochran earned his first save of the season and the Norsemen take game 3 from the Raiders with a score of 7-5.
The Norsemen host Redlands Community College for a single 9 inning game on Tuesday at 2pm at Homa Thomas Field.
The Norsemen also host the final conference series at Homa Thomas Field on Thursday April 30 and Saturday May 2nd against Eastern Oklahoma State College.
