Lady Norse Ignite in Third, Sweep Weekly Matchups

The NEO Lady Norse wrapped up a perfect 2–0 week with back-to-back conference wins over Connors State College and Eastern Oklahoma State College, highlighted by an 84–65 victory against Eastern on Saturday.

NEO battled through a slow start against the Mountaineers, trailing for the majority of the first half as shots were slow to fall and Eastern controlled the early tempo. The Lady Norse stayed composed, however, and came out of halftime with renewed energy that completely shifted the momentum.

The third quarter proved to be the turning point. NEO erupted for 32 points in the frame, using aggressive defense, fast-break opportunities, and sharp perimeter shooting to seize control of the game and build a lead they would not relinquish.

Taiona Morris provided the spark from beyond the arc, emerging as a major scoring threat in the second half. Morris knocked down four three-pointers after halftime and finished with 16 points, igniting the offensive surge. Ana Carolina Furtado led all scorers with 17 points, while Saniyah Morrison added 14 points to give NEO three starters in double figures.

Inside, Suzane Wembadjonga made her presence felt on both ends of the floor, controlling the boards and protecting the paint with three blocked shots to anchor the Lady Norse defense.

With the win over Eastern and an earlier victory against Connors State College, NEO continues to build momentum as conference play rolls on. The Lady Norse showcased their depth, resilience, and explosive potential—especially when the game is on the line.
