Lady Norse Battle to the Buzzer in 56–54 Loss to No. 19 State Fair
The NEO Lady Norse went toe-to-toe with No. 19 State Fair Community College on Saturday, falling just short in a hard-fought 56–54 contest that came down to the final possession.
NEO was powered by a phenomenal performance from Eliana Florence-Valentin, who poured in 25 points and knocked down an impressive seven 3-pointers to keep the Lady Norse within striking distance throughout the game. Her hot shooting stretched the floor, sparked multiple runs, and consistently disrupted State Fair's defensive plan.
Despite early foul trouble and a slow offensive start, the Lady Norse clawed back in the second half behind improved defensive pressure and timely shot-making. NEO tied the game late in the fourth quarter, forcing the ranked Roadrunners into tough looks and creating opportunities in transition.
In the final minute, State Fair managed to convert a late possession, and while NEO had a chance to steal the win, the last-second attempt narrowly missed.
Though the scoreboard swung the other way, the Lady Norse proved they can compete with top-tier teams—showing grit, confidence, and growth as the season progresses.
The Lady Norse return to action tomorrow at 1:00 PM, facing another major test against No. 9 Allen County Community College (Division II).
