"The first series with Connors was rough for us.   We were still exploring rotation and pen decisions.  We did not pitch or play defense well.  We felt that we fixed most of the issues in the Rose and Eastern weekends.  Both Penny a Garrett Smith have been pitching well and deep into games.  This was going to be an important bounce back series and we will we were lined up to get wins and hoped a shot a sweep.  Game 1 was played at ONEOK in Tulsa.  It was a great experience for all of us but we made 3 mistakes early in the game and gave 4 unearned runs.  There guy was solid and never really gave us a shot a big inning to get back onto.  It was disappointing not being more competitive in this game just do to the venue.  We thank Dr Stafford and all of the many people helped this event happen.  Dr Stafford made sure to let us know that everything went well and the event was a "WIN" for NEO.  We looking forward to playing the A&M Classic again next year.  Game 2 and 3 were back home at Homa Thomas field.  Got a great start from Penny but gave up a big inning late on baseball luck/unluck to lose.   We got behind again in game 3 but never quit playing and got big Slam from Braden Blundell to take the lead in the 8th and got another solid finish from Pieree-Luc to get the win.  Very proud of these guys.   We continue to improve but still need a couple more arms to raise their game to give us a chance to win the Region II Tournament."  WARD
