"We really had a good offensive day against Rose's #1 Guy, Issaac Thornton.  Issaac shut us down in last years Region II Tournament so we expected this would be a close and low scoring game.  It obviously ended up being much more offensive game than expected.  Ashton continues to get on base and the two Pumps from Caya and Wike played big on momentum.  Game 2 and 3 were much more pitching duels even with Ash's 3 hits and Solo's blast.  Mason Penninton pitched a gym spreading out 3 hits over 6 innings.  He was close to being able to get the complete game but when you have a solid guy like Pierre -Luc Jacques at the back in you just let him do his job.  Freshman Righty Garret Smith got the nod game 3 and had his best start of the year.  Garret pitched a complete game shut out spreading out 5 hits over those 9.  I going to have to go back over my time at NEO and see if we have ever had a 9 Inning complete game shut out.  Great weekend for the Norse!
