Sweep on Sophomore day

The Lady Norse fought hard to earn two big wins against NOC Tonkawa on sophomore day to sweep the Mavs on Sunday, May 1st. NEO took game one in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to back to back doubles by Felicity Horn and Kate Faber, ending the game with a 4-3 score. Faber took the win for NEO, lasting all seven innings, allowing eight hits and three runs while striking out five. The Lady Norse had nine hits in the game, with Horn and Morrall each having two hits, and Gregory, Compton, Donaldson, Torres, and Faber adding one to contribute to the win. Horn, Compton, Donaldson, and Torres all crossed the plate. Donaldson and Torres also each had a stolen base. 

Game two was another tight, high intensity game with NEO claiming a 6-5 victory, despite a big push by NOC Tonk in the first inning. The Lady Norse evened things up at five in the bottom of the third inning when Calee Gregory singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs. The Lady Norse put up five runs in the third inning for a comeback to tie the game. Felicity Horn, Faber, Payton Compton, and Gregory each had RBIs in the frame. NEO then pulled away for good with one run in the fourth inning, when Kate Faber doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring Paxton Donaldson. NEO scattered nine hits in the game. Paxton Donaldson and Faber each collected multiple hits for NEO. Donaldson led with three hits in four at bats. Gregory, Compton, Hall, and Morrall each added one hit. Faber and Gregory led in RBIs with two-a-piece. Payton Compton added another one in the third inning. Kayla Paulo earned the win for the Lady Norse. Paulo allowed four hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out six.
