Lady Norse Sweep Allen County at Home

NEO snagged a late lead and defeated Allen County 7-4 on Tuesday, Feb 15th. NEO was down 2-3 in the fifth inning when Compton and Faber hit back-to-back homeruns to put NEO ahead. The Lady Norse got things started early, scoring in the first when Payton Compton grounded out, scoring Destiny Tune. Faber led the Lady Norse to victory in the circle. Faber allowed seven hits and four runs over six innings, striking out six. Abby Ishmael threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.  Evy Aud, Destiny Tune, Tara Hall, Sarah Campbell, Makiah Torres, Hailey Haskell, Faber, Paige Morrall, and Compton each collected one hit to lead to contribute to the game one win. 

For game two, pitcher Evy Aud had all the right stuff, allowing zero runs and besting Allen by a score of 8-0. The Lady Norse got things moving in the first inning, when Destiny Tune led off with single and two stolen bases, bringing Payton Compton up in the three hole to drive in Tune. NEO scored five runs in the fifth inning. Hitters contributing to the big inning included Hopping, Donaldson, Tune, and Gregory, who all drove in runs. Aud got the win. The pitcher went five innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out two and walking one. NEO Lady Norse tallied nine hits total. Tune, Donaldson, and Aud each managed multiple hits, while Tara Hall and Kate Faber tacked on one a piece. Tune led at the plate with three hits in four at bats. Tune also led in the stolen base category with four total. Also fast on their feet was Hall, Aud, Donaldson, and Horn, totaling nine stolen bases in five innings.

NEO picks back up on Sunday, February 20th at home against Independence Community College. Game times are 1pm and 3pm at Iverson Field.
