On September 5^th NEO soccer hosted Allen county for an afternoon out of conference match up. Things started looking good for the Norsemen. The game when back and forth, without either team creating a true scoring threat. Thin in the 28^th minute an NEO attack forced a corner kick situation. NEO would convert the corner kick, but a whistle blew just before the ball went in the net for NEO. The whistle was a handball in the box setting up a PK for NEO. Danilo Camilo converted the PK to put NEO up early in the game. NEO defended well the rest of the half taking the game into the break with a 1-0 lead.
In the second half NEO's offense struggled to create very many chances, but the defense stood strong and didn't look threatened until late in the half. In the 75^th minute, Allen County converted a shot from the left side to tie the game at 1-1. The goal seemed to awaken NEO's attack as they answered with several possessions in the final third of the field. The goal would never come for NEO however. When it looked as if the games was destined for overtime, Allen county hit the game winner with under 2 minutes remaining.
